A digital journalism class project by #loweclass
Trinity Fellows is a graduate fellowship program at Marquette University in Milwaukee. The program is dedicated to developing urban leaders with a commitment to social and economic justice. It is intended for committed individuals who care about the well-being of others, and who wish to acquire experience in the urban nonprofit sector while pursuing a master's degree in one of 13 fields of study.
While engaged in full-time graduate studies, up to 20 Trinity fellows work each academic year in substantive projects or positions designed by selected nonprofit organizations in Milwaukee. More than 50 nonprofit agencies have partnered with the fellowship program since it began in 2000.
Fifteen Marquette undergraduate students in Professor Herbert Lowe's Digital Journalism III (JOUR 2100) class – otherwise known as #loweclass – explored the Trinity program during spring 2015. The students were each assigned a program alumnus or current fellow to profile, and one even spent time with beloved Trinity director Carole Ferrara. Many thanks to Ferrara, James Brust and Tina Quealy for the support and inspiration that enabled #loweclass to have a wonderful and productive semester.
